Mojos and Jellyrolls

My Journey!!!! What a roller coaster of highs and lows. I've met my heroes, played with some and made some lifelong friends along the way.

Some of the highs performing and running the Mojos and Jellyrolls and acoustic tent over 8 consecutive years at the Great Southern Blues Festival in Narooma with the likes of Tim D'Witt, with Henry Correy and Band and with a combo of Tim and I plus Phil Manning and Lil Goose, busking with Stevie Wright, doing a set at the Press Club with Dutch Tilders and duo-ing with my good friend Mark Easton...That was fun. But the highlight would have to be being invited to do a set with Kevin Borich and the Guitar Legends – Tim Gaze, Phil Emmanuel, Jon Carson and Chris Gilbert – not only a batch of the best Aussie musos but the nicest guys in the biz....Pinch me Martha I must be dreaming.

The lows...ah forget them...they pale into insignificance. When this pandemic hit and I turned a ripe and weary 70 years old I figured I'd retire from playing, even wrote a goodbye song "Swansong" but Freedom Day came and so did the gigs so maybe another year...

Favorite gig at the moment Tilba Valley Winery and Alehouse. Great location, great hosts and a mighty fine Shiraz.
